“Hey ‘Old School’, Imagine If Your Newsletter Content Was Getting Exposure Everywhere!”

I received an email newsletter from a favorite college classmate of mine and one of DC’s finest real estate agents today.
Granted she’s aware I’m poking fun and that I have a certain bias toward sites that support broad advertising visibility, but I responded as follows:
“Hey Old School,
Just imagine if that newsletter content:
1. pinged all search engines and generated competitive search engine indexing for *all* it’s key phrases;
2. pushed automatically [without you moving a muscle] into all your social network accounts [i.e. twitter, facebook, linkedin, etc.];
3. was bookmarked by umpteen people, for later when they are ready to buy!;
4. got back linked by umpteen people all giving you exposure to their own audiences … and all of whom might be ready to buy!;
5. got picked up by a local news source [with its own giant audience] looking for good local real estate info’ and good sources like you;
6. got picked up by sites grabbing like minded RSS feeds for their audience;
7. appeared on your own site where it is marked up with descriptive tags, URL, categorization and also archived for the long haul;
8. was automatically sent out via feedblitz to all direct RSS and email subscribers;
9. established permanent long term positioning in all of these places and more for people to find now and later and later still!
And to anyone reading this post, are you still sending email newsletters? Do you have a static or poorly marked up site? Each one of of these connections noted occurs with each post our clients generate, and so should yours!
